3) Indulge in Dark Chocolate:
Eating moderate amounts of dark chocolate can reduce overall body fat and shrink the waist. A study among women with normal weight obesity (skinny fat syndrome) who ate a Mediterranean diet that included two servings of dark chocolate each day showed a significant reduction in waist size than when on a cocoa-free meal plan
4) Pregame your dinner:
While it may sound counter intuitive, eating before going to a work dinner or happy hour can actually take off pounds. A series of studies out of Penn State found that noshing on an apple or a broth-based soup prior to sitting down to a restaurant meal can reduce total calorie intake by 20 percent. With the average restaurant meal weighing in at 1,128 calories, saving 20 percent once a day could help you lose up to 23 pounds this year.
5) Get stoned fruit:
New studies suggest that stone fruits—like plums, peaches and nectarines—may help ward off belly fat, high cholesterol and insulin resistance. The belly-flattening properties of the fruit may come from powerful phenol compounds that help modulate the expression of your fat genes. Eat one as a snack, or chop it up and toss it on your morning cereal or afternoon salad.
6) Jumping Rope:
Jumping rope is a great way to work off calories and tone your tummy. Make sure you stand up straight and hold your ab muscles tight as you do your reps (and if you’re a pro, you can even do crisis-crosses to really firm up your stomach). Skipping rope for 10 minutes a day can make a huge impact on your endurance – and will go a long way in shedding those last few pounds.
